STARRETT CRANKSHAFT DISTORTION GAUGE

- Starrett crankshaft distortion dial/strain gauge can perform two engine inspection functions.

Applied as an inside measuring gauge, it checks the distortion of crankshaft webs, which bears a direct relation to shaft deflection or excessive bearing wear. No need to dismantle the engine.

Applied as a strain gauge on engine frames while the engine is operating, it can check for misalignment of cylinder and frame. Misalignment can lead to local over-stress and eventual cracking of frame neck.

The gauge consists of a dial indicator, rods and extension, balancing attachment and fitted case. The dial indicator movement is 4 mm. It has a moveable bezel and unbreakable crystal.
